Leexan Hong earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology and master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

While at the University of Pennsylvania, Leexan did extensive research in molecular genetics. He presented his work nationally and was published in the Journal of Cell Biology. He also conducted research at Bristol-Myers Squibb studying several experimental compounds in the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease.

In 2001, Leexan began his career in marketing with Cardinal Health, Healthcare Marketing Services. As Account Manager, he oversaw continuing medical education and patient education programs. He worked in a variety of therapeutic areas including mental health, neurology, urology, and heart disease.

Leexan’s background in education led him to notice a lack of effective patient education. He founded CTE Healthcare Communications to fill this void.

Leexan has served as a student teacher and volunteer boys’ and girls’ track & field coach at University City High School in West Philadelphia. Leexan is a member of the American Marketing Association and also sits on the Board of Directors for the Historic Christian Street YMCA.
